I am not sure whether the forum is still active or not but let me try my chances. I am working on nanoparticle synthesis using spray flames. I would like to know whether QBMM supports non-spherical particle formation. or at least volume + surface area tracking. I am not sure which internal coordinates are used in NDF and how they can be accessed.
Currently OpenQBMM implements univariate population balance for size www.openqbmm.org/available-population-balance-models/. Multivariate methods have been implemented in general form for velocity PDFs and join size-velocity PDFs for gas-liquid and gas-particle flows, but not for the multivariate PDFs including length, area, volume, etc. Is this what you would be interested in? If so, it could be relatively straightforward to do in the existing framework, using CQMOM (the quadrature approach is in place, closure models will need to be added.
